Transition Programmes The Ormiston Transition Programmes include: A - The Social Growth Programme
- A 10 week programme for 5/6 year olds
- Develops social and emotional skills through a combination of modelling and other activity based sessions
- Ideal for use with small groups of pupils who need additional support to enable them to get along with their peers and others
- Works effectively with whole class groups to develop positive attitudes and relationships as pupils move from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2
- The programme includes all materials needed for delivery of the programme together with full staff guidance on delivery methods.
B - The Moving On Transitions Programme
- A 5 week programme for pupils in Year 6
- The programme aims to help pupils to face some of their concerns about moving on to secondary school
- The resource includes scripts and all materials for delivery to whole class groups of pupils.
C - The Aiming Higher Pupil Profile
- Designed for use with pupils from Year 5 to Year 8, bridging the point of transfer
- A structured process to enable pupils to identify all their skills and talents
- Offer opportunities for pupils to set personal (as well as academic) targets and to plan how to achieve them
- Enable all pupils to achieve success and to be recognised for it
- Enables pupils to feel confident on transfer that their previous achievement is recognised and valued.
D - The Parents in Transition Programme
- A 6 week programme to be delivered to groups of parents during Year 6 of their child's education
- Short but relevant sessions to answer questions for parents and to offer them insight into issues facing their child, including how to support them
- The programme includes all materials for delivery as well as notes for those delivering the sessions.
