Coaching for Performance

Coaching for Performance is a powerful way of raising teacher effectiveness and student aspirations, achievement and outcomes.

Coaching for Performance will enable you to do what you came into teaching to do, that is to provide high quality teaching and learning with the best possible results for every child in your school. You can focus your coaching on individuals or on cohorts and on one or more areas for improvement depending on your particular needs.

This report on the effectiveness of performance coaching was given in the GTC Magazine Teaching, Autumn 2005 after evaluation coaching carried out in 43 London schools.

• The system gets results; of the coached students 485 received higher grades than predicted.
• All of those recommended for coaching because of attendance raised their attendance levels.
• Of those referred for behavioural concerns in year 10, 76% were not raised as behavioural concerns through year 11.
